Case Study Cardlimbo.com.au
Cardlimbo.com.au is Australia’s first online marketplace for buying, selling and swapping gift cards. Cardlimbo contracted Earthlink Design to build its online solution and maintain their online web presence.
The tasks to complete the website were challenging as some of the concepts and ideas that Cardlimbo required were very complex. After numerous meetings and planning the tasks were allocated and we begin in late December 2009. It was a project requiring a team of six Earthlink Design team members. We had designers, programmers and a project manager to be able to pull this site together.
The website is fully customisable in terms of the navigation menus, content as well as product catalogues. A web based administration module has been provided allowing administrators to update and manage the website with ease. The administration module is password protected and access within the administration of the site role based. Administrators and other authorised users can perform a variety of tasks including creating and populating products, managing product inventory that is sold and donated, viewing and processing orders, generate reports etc.
The website has been developed using PHP, Flash, AJAX, MySQL & JavaScript.
The website allows web users to purchase Gift Cards through an online store, sell gift cards to Cardlimbo through a custom designed interface, and even donate a gift card to a selected charity. The uniqueness of the project has meant that we have had to develop components and modules from the ground up and as challenging as this has been its has been a greatly rewarding project for our team.
