Background
Planett Apparel offers uniforms, corporate clothing, printing, embroidery, and promotional products. Their shop presence was supported by a catalogue website which allowed web users to view the extensive range available.
Assignment
Planett Apparel approached Earthlink Design to determine whether they could streamline their online business practices. They wanted to convert the current website into a fully featured shopping cart.
The primary objective of the Planett Apparel website was to streamline the administration process surrounding the purchase of clothing from Planett Apparel and to facilitate timely communication with Planett Apparel customers and suppliers. This includes the collection of online orders, invoicing, creation of purchase orders, order tracking, reporting, mailing list and newsletter management.
Process
We started by replicating the current site and transferring it into a template that we could use for the content management system and the online shopping cart. We then began to configure and build the shopping cart and all the customisations required in order to complete the project objectives.
We also needed to build the template for the mailing list system and install and configure the mail list manager.
